Google plans to begin selling digital books in late June or July 2010, throwing the search engine company into a battle that already involves Amazon, Apple, and Barnes & Noble. Google says users will be able to buy digital copies of books (essentially ebooks) they discover through their book-search service, the same service that has been under such legal scrutiny since its initial release. So how does this affect you?

Mobile Devices has a post about how Google Editions, Google’s e-books service, will not have a specific ebook format like ePub, PDF, or AZW, but instead is read through a web browser. So the question is, will your ebook reader be able to view and read Google Editions ebooks? Well, that depends on whether or not your ereader has a web browser.
